The Salvation of Ravenblood Games

Behold, the Gods of Gaming: they giveth, and they taketh away.

And sometimes, they do it in the opposite order.

Remember a while back, when I was lamenting the soon-to-be-closing of my FLGS, Ravenblood Games? Well, those Gods of Gaming decided to spare the store, and sent salvation in the form of Legendary Realms.

Legendary Realms is a game terrain company who have been connected to the LIRP; they’ve been at every RetCon the LIRP has held. One of the Legendary Realms guys built a creepy cave display that was in the front window of Ravenblood for its entire lifetime.

So while this past weekend was the last of Ravenblood Games in its current incarnation, on June first the store will reopen as Legendary Realms Games. They’re keeping the business model (and paint scheme!) of Ravenblood—with some added stock in the terrain department—so the LIRP has a home, and I still have my FLGS, albeit a slightly modified one.

If you’re on Long Island, Legendary Realms Games is having a grand opening Sunday, June 8th and Saturday, June 9th, with gaming, food, and more. If you’d like to join us, here’s the address:

LEGENDARY REALMS GAMES
1163 Old Country Road
Plainview, NY 11803

Maybe I’ll see you there!

About Caitlin

CAITLIN has been gaming for a decade--longer if you count her strictly PbP years and playing Baldur's Gate 2 before she knew what D&D was. She came to tabletop gaming backwards, starting from Jeff Hannes's dice-less, semi-LARP Dramatic Roleplaying Tournament, to being wooed by World of Darkness, to finally rolling a d20 with 3.5 and Pathfinder. She now plays a variety of tabletop RPGs, video, card, and board games, while still occasionally dropping all the rules to play in a free-form RPG.
